Asa KELL

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Asa Kell, age 82, was born June 19, 1927 and died March 29, 2010 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A cattleman, United States Army veteran of Korea and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Asa Ernest and Liddie Hillis Kell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Ernest, Leroy and Tom Kell and six sisters, Cleo Bouldin, Pauline Whitlock, Mary Julian, Martha Balkin, Betty Upton and Hallie Higginbotham. He was married January 17, 1957 to Sarah Eaton Kell of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Debbie Kell of McMinnville; grandson, Erwin Tupper and wife Allison of McMinnville; great-grandson, Asa Wayne Tupper of McMinnville; sister, Lucille Grissom of Rock Island, TN and sister-in-law, Clata Kell of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 in High's Chapel with Tony Lawrence officiating. Burial followed in the Shellsford Cemetery.
