McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Georgie Etta Madewell, age 88, was born December 17, 1921 and died March 17, 2010 at River Park Hospital following a short illness. A homemaker and member of the Shiloh Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Willie Byron and Anna Eliza Hembree McCormack. She was married to Gilbert Madewell who preceded her in death June 8, 1982. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by children, Milton and Edith Madewell and Dorothy and Richard Roddy; five brothers, Ray, James, Clyde, Floyd and Lloyd McCormack and two sisters, Willa Mae Procter and Ona Louise Walker. She is survived by two children and their spouses, Louis and Anne Madewell of McMinnville and Wanda Fay and Garry Sharpe of Groveland, FL; two grandchildren, Louanne Madewell of McMinnville and Jeff Sharpe and wife Mary Beth of Bartow, FL; three great-grandchildren, Devin, Danielle and Derek Sharpe all of Bartow, FL; three special great-grandchildren, Adam, Samantha and Kristin Bouldin both of McMinnville; seven step-grandchildren; James Richard Roddy, Kathy Roddy and Linda Kay Roddy all of Indiana, Sherry Ricketts of Hermitage, TN, Sheila Stopp of Connecticut and Milton Gilbert Madewell and Sandra Gail Madewell both of Gallatin, TN; seven step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; two special nephews, Sammy Walker and wife Louree and Carl McCormack and wife Linda both of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2010 in High's Chapel with Coy Hathcock officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels or the Alzheimer's Association both c/o High's.
