Shelby Jean MILLS

Rock Island, TN resident and Van Buren County, TN native Shelby Jean Mills, age 68, was born December 22, 1941 and died January 11, 2010 at St. Thomas Hospital following an extended illness. An accountant with Bouldin & Lawson and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Mary Kathalene Grissom Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herod and Dora Grissom and granddaughter, Jill Rutledge. She was married to Joe Bob Mills of Rock Island, TN. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Kent and Sandra Mills of Gallatin, TN; grandchildren, Lindsey McClung of St. Louis, MO and Matthew and Allison Mills of Hendersonville, TN; brother, Eddie Barnes of Spencer, TN; aunt and uncle, Sue and Ray Smith of McMinnville; niece and nephews, Bill Barnes and Cody Barnes both of Spencer, TN and Daphne and Seth Alexander of Manchester, TN; great-nephews, Brandon Barnes and Owen Alexander; cousins, Betty and Robert Brotherton of Cookeville, TN and June and Phillip Gribble and Faye and Joe Davenport both of McMinnville and many good friends. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2010 in High's Chapel with Doug Bost officiating. Burial followed in the Long Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
