Rocky River Community resident and Van Buren County, TN native Carmon Rose Scott Powers, age 70, was born June 4, 1939 and died March 15, 2010 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired employee of Oster Corporation and member of the Harmony Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Eliza Bishop Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Layton Scott and one son, Jeffery Scott Powers. She was married for over fifty-two years to Carl Powers of the Rocky River Community. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Anita Powers of the Rocky River Community; three grandchildren, Amos, Nola and Jasper Powers all of Doyle, TN; two half-brothers, Edd Scott and Fred Scott both of Rock Island, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in High's Chapel with Bob McCoy officiating. Burial followed in the White Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
