James Arwel PRATER

McMinnville resident and Warren County native James Arwel Prater, age 80, was born November 18, 1929 and died March 12, 2010 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following a brief illness. A retired CNA at Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN and United States Army veteran of Korea, he was the son of the late Caleb Jackson and Delma Poss Prater. He was married May 30, 1954 to Mairene Ponder Prater who preceded him in death August 8, 2003. He is survived by one son, Randall Prater of McMinnville; daughter, Janet Osborn of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Kaleb Hayes and Jamie Prater both of McMinnville and Keaton Osborn of Blufton, IN; two sisters, Faye Burch of Rock Island, TN and Mamie Newman of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 in High's Chapel with George Kesler officiaitng. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
