McMinnville resident and Marietta, GA native Kathy Ann Sorrells, age 52, was born September 3, 1958 and died December 26, 2010 at River Park Hospital following a sudden illness. An assistant supervisor in quality control with Mowtron Industires and member of the Sweetwater Baptist Church in Dawsonville, GA, she was the daughter of James Carl Ballew of Dahlonega, GA and the late Joyce McElreath Ballew. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Chris Wolfson; father-in-law, Robert Sorrells and brother-in-law, Rudy Sorrells. She was married June 15, 1975 to Randy Sorrells of McMinnville. In addition to her husband father, she is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Anthony Salyers of Dahlonega, GA; son and his companion, Janus and Amber Sorrells of Cumming, GA; five grandchildren, Bailey and Camryn Salyers of Dahlonega, GA, Ericka and Merick Sorrells of McMinnville and Areia Sorrells of Cumming, GA; brother, James "Jake" Ballew of Dahlonega, GA; sister, Lynn Killius of Dawsonville, GA; mother-in-law, Martha Sorrells of Cumming, GA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Tom and Connie Stradley of Dawsonville, GA, Kathy Richards and her companion Tim Goutro, Darrell and Sheila Blanchard and Stan Sorrells all of Cumming, GA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2010 in High's Chapel with Rev. James T. Stradley officiating. Burial followed in the Bethany Cemetery.
