Nellie Kate SPARKMAN

McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Nellie Kate Sparkman, age 79, was born July 6, 1931 and died December 18, 2010 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. A homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Jess and Verlie Mae Barker Hodge. She was married to Fred Sparkman who preceded her in death November 1, 2006. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Phid, Euion Lee, Clarence and Vernon Hodge and two sisters, LouVennie Walker and Susan Kirkpatrick. She is survived by three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Barbara Hodge of Cookeville, TN and Orville and Martha Hodge and James Hodge both of Sparta, TN; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Billy Joe Farley of Sparta, TN and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment was held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Greenwood Cemetery in White County, TN with John Vaughn officiating.
