Walter Eugene Gene WILSON

McMinnville resident and Overton County, TN native, Walter Eugene "Gene" Wilson, age 71 ,was born March 25, 1939 and died August 10, 2010 at River Park Hospital. A former horse, mule and cattle trader and owner of Wilson Motors, he was the son of the late Richard Houston and Maudie Bell Bilbrey Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, William O. Wilson, Martin "Pete" Wilson, Hack Wilson and Howard Wilson and two sisters, Velma Wilson and Austie Wilson. He is survived by one son, Jason Wilson of McMinnville; three sisters, Thula Kilgore, Betty Boyd and Delcie West all of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews; step-son, Greg Bray of McMinnville; former wife, Doris Wilson of Sparta, TN and special friends, David Pendergraph, Buddy Pendergraph and Teddy and Vicky Alley all of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2010 in High's Chapel with Ray Skyles officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
