Wilma Fisher YATES

McMinnville resident and DeKalb County, TN native Wilma Fisher Yates, age 90, was born May 10, 1920 and died December 19, 2010 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A retired manager with KOA Campground and twenty-three year employee of McMinnville Garment Company, she was the daughter of the late Enoch L. and Georgia Raymond Fisher. She was a member of the Baptist Church. She was married to B.F. Yates who preceded her in death March 3, 2003. In addition to her husband of sixty-four years and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Dale Nunley; brother, Frank Loyd Fisher and two sisters, Beatrice Jones and Susie Jones. She is survived by three daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Lannie Wanamaker and Beverly Hertwig both of McMinnville and Helen Fults of Altamont, TN; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Yates and her husband spent many retirement years traveling and camping with friends. Funeral service was held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in High's Chapel. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals On Wheels or Relay For Life both c/o High's.
