SR., Benny Jackson BLACK

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Benny Jackson Black, Sr., age 72, was born September 10, 1938 and died May 21, 2011 at Hospice of Chattanooga, TN following a brief illness. A custodian with Warren County School System and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Herman and Minnie Wood Black. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Benjie Black; grandson, Cole Miller; siblings, Sue Ellen Black, Danny Ray Black, Margaret Lucille Black Hudson and Michael Dale Black. He was married April 27, 1990 to Nadine Hayes Black of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by seven sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lori Black, Benny and Sarah Black, Jr., Ronald Black, Alan and Angela Miller, Tyler and Lindsey Miller and Casey and April Miller all of McMinnville and Phillip and Lisa Miller of the Smartt Station Community; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; ten siblings and their spouses, Shirley and Paul Starkey, William and Teresa Black, Gary and Linda Black, David and Goldie Black, Freddy and Joy Black, Peggy and James Earls and Richard and Gennean Black all of McMinnville, John and Linda Black of Morrison, TN, Betty and Jr. Griffith of Smithville, TN and Roger and Jean Black of Murfreesboro, TN; brother-in-law, H.C. Hudson of Morrison, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011 in High's Chapel with Jim Hunt officiating. Burial followed in the Morrison Cemetery with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
