Georgia Mae BOYD

Rock Island, TN resident and White County, TN native Georgia Mae Boyd, age 90, was born May 13, 1920 and died February 20, 2011 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a brief illness. A retired employee of Genesco and member of New Bybee Chapel Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late James and Polly Sparkman Zwingle. She was married to George Edward Boyd who preceded her in death October 14, 1997. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son, James Boyd; son-in-law, Bobby Bell and brother, L.C. Zwingle. She is survived by one daughter, Martha Bell of the Midway Community; daughter-in-law, Pam Boyd of Morristown, TN; six grandchildren and their spouses, Michael Bell and Phyllis and Mike Boren both of the Midway Community, David and Donna Bell of Cartersville, GA, Janice and Scott Kelsey of Maryville, TN, Kim and John Prentiss of Knoxville, TN and Amy and Terry Guinn of Morristown, TN; eight great-grandchildren, Eric and Bryan Kelsey, Daiden and Greg Bell, Emily and Peyton Boren and Amanda and Nicholas Guinn; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Robert and Juanita Boyd of Rock Island, TN and N.B. and Faye Stiles of McMinnville and many special friends and neighbors. A graveside service and interment was held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Old Bybee Cemetery with Tim Lewis officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals On Wheels or Relay For Life both c/o High's.
