McMinnville resident and Coffee County, TN native Sammy Day Brady, age 56, was born June 7, 1954 and died February 24, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. An employee of McMinnville Country Club Golf Course and member of the First Church of God, he was the son of Hessie Myers Brady of McMinnville and the late Sam Houston Brady. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Stella Mae Glenn. He was married September 6, 1978 to Barbara Jo Tolbert Brady of McMinnville. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four sons, Billy Brady, Shawn Brady, Sam Brady, Jr., and Chris Scott all of McMinnville; four daughters and son-in-law, Samantha Brady and Amanda and Shawn Thaxton both of McMinnville, Misty Brady of Cornelius, GA and Sherry Dean Brady of South Carolina; five grandsons and three granddaughters; six brothers and two sisters; several nieces and nephews; special aunt, Hester Young; cousins, Melinda Stembridge, J.D. Myers and Lee Myers; uncle, Delva Myers and special friend, Jr. Totherow. A graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 at Morrison Cemetery with Rex Boles officiating.
