Robert Wayne BURNS

McMinnville resident and Davidson County, TN native Robert Wayne Burns, age 54, was born August 30, 1956 and died March 22, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. An employee of Bridgestone/Firestone in La Vergne, TN, United States Navy veteran of Vietnam and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Robert and Barbara June West Burns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his fathers-in-law, Frank Pinegar and J.P. Stubblefield and uncle, Edy West. He was married April 28, 1995 to Judy Ann Pinegar Burns of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Adam Cunningham of Florida; two daughters, Samantha Katlyn Burns of Mt. Juliet, TN and Emily Burns of McMinnville; step-son, Tony Chapman of McMinnville; two step-daughters and step-son-in-law, Stacey and Allen West and Stephanie Chapman both of McMinnville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Jo and Steven Bass of Lafayette, AL and Debbie Jean and David Dickerson of Rockvale, TN; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Frankie and Cecil Ferrell of Morrison, TN and Eddie and Corazon Pinegar of McMinnville; nine grandchildren; mother-in-law, Annie Belle Stubblefield of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2011 in High's Chapel with George King, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
