McMinnville resident and Warren County native Charles "C.O. Tooter" Cunningham, age 75, was born April 13, 1936 and died May 16, 2011 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired employee of Carrier Corporation, United States Marine Corps veteran of Korea and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Charlie and Mona Anderson Cunningham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Thurston Cunningham; four sisters, Irene Mabe, Cola June Mayfield, Sibyle Matias and Evelyn Parker and daughter-in-law, Serena Cunningham. He is survived by four children, Kenneth Cunningham and wife Theresa, Myron Cunningham and Angela Cunningham all of McMinnville and Stephen Cunningham of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; six grandchildren, Travis Cantrell, Chasity Simmerly, Stephanie Cunningham, Frankie Montarello and Christy and Melissa Keys. three great-grandchildren, Destiny Dallas Cantrell, Chassie Elise Cantrell and Allison Brooke Cantrell; brother, Jim Cunningham; sister, Cathy Neal of McMinnville; special friend, Jaycene Denton of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in High's Chapel with the family officiating. Burial followed in the New Union Cemetery on Highway 30 with military honors administered by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard.
