Annie Ellen CURTIS

April 20, 1933 — November 10, 2011

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Annie Ellen Curtis, age 78, was born April 20, 1933 and died November 10, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness. A retired food service worker with Warren County School System and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Alex J. and Lauretta Cook Prater. She was married January 28, 1957 to Charles Earl Curtis who preceded her in death, July 26, 1997. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue Ellen Curtis. She is survived by five children and their spouses, Wayne and Millie Curtis, Vicki and Rodger Grieves, Lee and Gail Curtis and Lisa and Dexter Wells all of McMinnville and Patti and Russell Barnes of Morrison, TN; fourteen grandchildren, Jeremy Barnes, Nathan Barnes, Darrid, DaRae and Danna Wells, Abe Curtis, Micaela and Kelsea Grieves, Tia and Rylan Kreed and Makinlee, Bren and Braelee Curtis; seven great-grandchildren, Jera and Aly Barnes, Nahla Barnes, Kinslee Taylor, Dominique and Layton Kirby and Devin Knox; two sisters and brother-in-law, Nancy Basham of McMinnville and Kathy and Kelly Hodges of Atlanta, GA; brother and sister-in-law, William and Linda Prater of McMinnville; sister-in-law, Eva Sue Bouldin of Morrison ,TN; special friends at Fairview CIC; very special caregiver, Eva Graham and very special cousin, Linda Cantrell. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 13, 2011 in High's Chapel with Jonathan Stubblefield officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and 9:00 a.m. until time of service Sunday at High's.
