Gladys Irene Comer DICKINSON

San Leon, TX resident and Warren County native Gladys Irene Comer Dickinson, age 87, was born March 8, 1924 and died June 30, 2011 at Baywinds Village in League City, TX following an extended illness. A homemaker, member of the Eastern Star and member of the Bascom United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Joe M. and Zela Irene Meyers Comer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Newell and Harry Comer and three sisters, Lois Schrecrengost, Elizabeth Huvar and Faye Marcrom. She is survived by one son, Joe A. Dickinson and wife Doris of Kingwood, TX; foster son, Jim Wiggins and wife Peggy of Bakersfield, CA; daughter, Susan Irene Hart and husband John of San Leon, TX; granddaughter, Stacey Uptegrove and husband Rusty of Santa Fe, TX; step-grandsons, Mark Halliday and family of Leander, TX and Carl Halliday and family of Kingwood, TX and three sisters, Edith Vinson of Houston, TX, Joann Jones of Nashville, TN and Carolyn Womack of Morrison, TN. Funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in High's Chapel with Glyndia Dodson officiating. Burial followed in the Bascom Cemetery.
