McMinnville resident and Warren County native Velma Nadine Jones Elrod, age 71, was born February 15, 1939 and died February 11, 2011 at her residence following a brief illness. The owner of Jones Twins Beauty Shop for fifty years and member of McMinnville Independent Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Orville Lee and Loda Ward Jones. She was married to Arthur Elrod who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Charles Jones; three sisters, twin sister Thelma Vickers, Ruby Gunter and Viola Hafley and nephew, Roy Gunter. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Gary Jones, Jimmy Jones, Randy Jones, Clarence Jones, Mildred Vaughn, Gene Gunter, Howard Gunter, Eddie Gunter, Ronnie Gunter, Tom Hafley, Fred Hafley, Judy Hafley, Charlotte Hafley, Wayne Hafley, Debra Hafley and Margie Ward; great-nephew "grandson", Ronnie J. Gunter of McMinnville; great-niece "granddaughter", April Barrett of Altamont, TN; great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews "great-great-grandchildren", Rebekah, Sarah, Andrew and Aaron Barrett and Riley Gunter and many other nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2011 in High's Chapel with Johnny Haston and Bishop Aaron Barrett officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
