Delcie Mae Penny ERVIN

McMinnville resident and DeKalb County, TN native Delcie Mae "Penny" Ervin, age 87, was born September 13, 1924 and died November 26, 2011 at her residence following a four-month illness. A homemaker, a prayer warrior and member of the Pentecostal faith, she was the daughter of the late James Lee and Etter Green Bain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ervin; three children, Geneva McClellan, Arthur Ervin, Peggy Adamson and Margaret Smith; grandson, Douglas Smith and siblings, Hurbert Bain, Bobby Bain, Rubin Bain, Lonnie Bain and Minnie Farless. She is survived by four children and their spouses, Paul Ervin, Emma Jean and Carl Poss and Linda and Tony Fults all of McMinnville and Janet Neal of Smithville, TN; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; goddaughter, Tammy Pepper Bell and godson, Ricky Mitchell. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the First Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic Faith with Ricky Mitchell, David Snowden and Alfred Basham officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
