Cheryl Annette FREEMAN

Knoxville, TN resident and Warren County native Cheryl Annette Freeman, age 55, was born September 25, 1956 and was called home by the Lord on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Mercy Health St. Mary's in Knoxville, TN following an extended illness. A College Director at Huntington College of Health Science and member of the Calvary Baptist Church where she served the Lord for many years as preschool director, she was the daughter of Bobby G. Southard, Sr. of McMinnville and the late Gloria Annette Johnson Southard. Cheryl followed her calling by passionately serving others. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by one sister, Johnnie Angela Fults. She was married November 1, 1975 to James L. Freeman of Knoxville, TN. In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Brandy Freeman of Maryville, TN; daughter, Courtney Freeman of Norfolk, VA; step-son, John Freeman and wife Nicole of Manchester, TN; step-mother, Allene Southard of McMinnville; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby G. and Sylvia Southard, Jr. of McMinnville and Bucky and Ellen Southard of Smithville, TN and four grandchildren, Ashley, Kayla, Michael and Zack. Funeral service was held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2011 in High's Chapel with Tom Fethe officiating. Burial followed in the Gardens of Memory.
