MD, Dr. J.C. GAW

McMinnville resident and Long Beach, CA native Dr. J.C. Gaw, MD, age 88, was born November 27, 1922 and died May 30, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. A family practitioner and surgeon and member of the Central Church of Christ where he served as a long-time elder, he was the son of the late Cleves C. and Pearl Wisdom Gaw. He was married to Helen Jewel Wales Gaw who preceded him in death May 31, 2009. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Jane and Michael Krauth of Murfreesboro, TN, Barbara and Norman Sain of McMinnville and Marilyn Gail Gaw of Knoxville, TN; son and daughter-in-law, John and Ruth Gaw of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren, Chris Krauth, Trisha Harris, Ashli Komistek, Zac Sain and Hunter Sain; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sara Lynn of Gainesboro, TN and Betty Wisdom of Barberton, OH and three brothers, Doyle Gaw, David Gaw and Billy Gaw all of Nashville, TN. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011 in High's Chapel with Nestor Stewart and Ben Bailey officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
