SR., Paul Stewart HALEY

Smithville, TN resident (formerly of McMinnville) and Warren County native Paul Stewart Haley, Sr., age 77, was born November 13, 1933 and died August 26, 2011 at his residence following a three-month illness. The owner of Haley Nursery Company and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late George and Bertie Cantrell Haley. Mr. Haley was a member of the McMinnville Exchange Club and held many offices and positions in local and national nursery associations. He was married to Carolyn Marie Akers Haley who preceded him in death December 7, 1993. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Haley; two sisters, Magnolia Adcock and Alda Womack and brother, Roy Haley. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Paula and Jimmy Barnes of McMinnville; three sons and daughter-in-law, Richard and Anita Haley of McMinnville, David Haley of Nashville, TN and Paul Haley, Jr. of Lebanon, TN; eight grandchildren, Rebecca (Scott) Walker and Jennifer Barnes both of Brentwood, TN, Jimmy Barnes, Jr., Maryann Haley, Catherine Haley and John Michael Haley all of McMinnville, Heinrich Haley of Chicago, IL and Hannah Haley of Nashville, TN; three great-grandchildren, Henry, Emma and Ben Walker; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Chester Womack of McMinnville and two sisters-in-law, Linda Roberts and Ira Lee Darnbush. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2011 in High's Chapel with John May officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
