McMinnville resident and Douglas, GA native Edward Ronnie Hattaway, age 83, was born October 29, 1927 and died April 23, 2011 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home. A retired employee of DeZurik, United States Army veteran of WWII and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Harvel Ellia and Lizzie Rebecca Hart Hattaway. He was married September 25, 1947 to Aline Kirby Hattaway who preceded him in death April 30, 2004. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Shirley Hattaway of Morrison, TN and Ricky and Sonmin Hattaway of Manchester, TN; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Steve Melton of Mt. Juliet, TN, Elizabeth and Jerry Denton of Quebeck, TN and Bonnie and Greg Deel of Morrison, TN; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Christopher and Jolene Melton, Michelle and Joshua Moore, Rhonda and Kyle Fisher, W2 Brandon Durham & Jenna, Jennifer Hattaway, Lisa Hattaway, Meagan and Rodney Evans and Joshua Denton; six great-grandchildren, Mariah and Nicholas Moore, Madisson and Mason Melton and Ethan and Colton Evans; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Faye Hattaway and Donny and Dorothy Hattaway both of Georgia; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Orbie Hardin, Oweeda Moore, Eleanor Joiner and Nadine and Monroe Foster all of Georgia and Maregie and Emmett Griffin of Florida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Faye Kirby of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in High's Chapel with Joshua Moore officiating. Burial followed in the Bethlehem Cemetery with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
