Georgia Smith HAYES

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Georgia Smith Hayes, age 89, was born May 6, 1922 and died June 24, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness. A salesperson with Forest Nursery and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Elmon and Edith McBride Smith. She was married to Len Gilbert Hayes who preceded her in death. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Ann Womack and brother, Franklin D. Smith. She is survived by one daughter, Mary Mayfield of McMinnville; two sons and daughter-in-law, Lanny Hayes of Sparta, TN and Gilbert and Gail Hayes of McMinnville; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and two nephews, Anthony and Mark Smith both of Dallas, TX. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2011 in High's Chapel with David Mayfield officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
