Glen HOBBS

Rock Island, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Glen Hobbs, age 70, was born July 4, 1940 and died April 15, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following a lingering illness. A retired employee of Magnetek, United States Army veteran and member of Friendship The Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Frank and Vivian Smartt Hobbs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Leslie, Earl and Hartley Hobbs. He was married December 5, 1981 to Faye Jones Hobbs of Rock Island, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Julie Hobbs of Rock Island, TN; daughter, Lynette Hobbs Janca of Rock Island, TN; step-children and their spouses, Richard and Windy Redmon of Conyers, GA and Michael and Tina Bain of Rock Island, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Hobbs, Leland Hobbs, Michael David Janca and Mary Rose Janca all of Rock Island, TN; step-grandchildren, Brandi Loraine Bain of McMinnville and Katelyn Scrader and Chloe and Logan Redmon all of Conyers, GA; step-great-grandson, Opie Newby of Rock Island, TN; brother, Frank Lee Hobbs of Altamont, TN; sister, Willie Mae Carr of Altamont, TN; special friend Michael Janca of Nashville, TN and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service was held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, April 18, 2011 in High's Chapel with Jason Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Hebron Cemetery.
