McMinnville resident and Warren County native Burger Jennings, age 86, was born June 20, 1924 and died March 14, 2011 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. A retired truck driver and mechanic with APAC and member of Bethel Church, he was the son of the late Jess Jennings and Lillie Cagle Jennings Campbell. He was married June 5, 1941 to Delphia Nunley Jennings who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Jennings; step-father, Dow Campbell; granddaughter, Michelle Jennings and brother, James Jennings. He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Helen Jennings of Morrison, TN, Jerry and Kaye Jennings of McMinnville and Steve and Linda Jennings of the Centertown Community; seven grandchildren, Danny, Allan, Lisa and Shonia Jennings, Natalie Pettrey, Connie Simpson and Tammy Buckner; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brandy, Hayden and Lexie Wood Jennings, Paige Hinkle, Kealey Caldwell and Peyton Pettrey; two great-great-grandchildren, Landon Jennings and Trenton Martin; daughter-in-law, Earlene Jennings of McMinnville; sister, Beatrice Campbell of McMinnville; two half-sisters, Ruby King and Georgia Ann King both of McMinnville; half-brother, Billy Campbell of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2011 in High's Chapel with Billy Campbell officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
