SR., Bearl Thomas KIRBY

McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Bearl Thomas Kirby, Sr., age 62, was born August 31, 1948 and died March 10, 2011 at his residence following a sudden illness. A contractor, United States Army veteran of Vietnam and member of the Locust Street Church of God, he was the son of the late Arvin and June Davis Kirby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donnie and Freddy Kirby. He was married August 2, 1968 to Nancy Davis Kirby of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bearl and Regina Kirby, Jr. of McMinnville; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie Kirby and Jimmy Bolin of McMinnville; grandson, Dustin Thomas Kirby of McMinnville; mother-in-law, Opal Davis of McMinnville; brother-in-law, Leonard Thomas Davis of Midway, GA; four brothers, Ricky Kirby, Joe Kirby and Roy Kirby all of McMinnville and Billy Kirby of Texas and sister, Patty Matheny of Rock Island, TN. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2011 in High's Chapel with Roland Sharp and Scotty Lawson officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
