Walter MACON

Morrison, TN resident and Coffee County, TN native Walter Macon, age 84, was born March 9, 1926 and died January 9, 2011 at Alive Hospice @ St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A retired employee of Carrier and member of the Hiawassee Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Roy and Ethel Sims Macon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Thelma D. Crisp, Margaret J. Whitaker and Ora E. Guest and two brothers, Lawrence R. Macon and Freeman R. Macon. He was married October 17, 1954 to Annie Crisp Macon of Morrison, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Hullon Bonner of Antioch, TN; son, Walter L. Macon of McMinnville; two granddaughters, Gloria Ann Bonner and Shannon R. Macon Porras; two great-grandchildren, Alexia and TayShaun Porras and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2011 in High's Chapel with George King and Chris Whitaker officiating. Burial followed in the Elamtown Cemetery in Coffee County, TN.
