Virginia P. Granny MARTIN

McMinnville resident and White County, TN native Virginia P. "Granny" Martin, age 89, was born December 4, 1921 and died April 22, 2011 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. The retired owner of Granny's Family Daycare and member of Friendship The Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Virgle Arliss and Maggie Alta Taylor Raper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Lonnie, Arndell, Raleigh and Varless Raper and seven sisters, Clara Bell, Sophia, Reba, Leona, Adell, Hazel and Dorothy. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Rebecca Faye and Ernest Bost and Susan Briest both of McMinnville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Frances Martin of Walling, TN, Johnny and Janice Martin of Smithville, TN and Danny "D.R." Martin of McMinnville; seven grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Leona Raper; special granddaughter, Kelley Snyder of McMinnville and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment was held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011 at Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN with Roland Sharp officiating.
