Lillian Darnell MAXWELL

Viola, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Lillian Darnell Maxwell, age 82, was born November 7, 1929 and died December 10, 2011 at her residence following a brief illness. A teacher's aid and member of the Viola United Methodist Church, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Leah Wooten Darnell. She was married June 5, 1948 to Carlos "Mutt" Maxwell who preceded her in death July 29, 1974. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by son-in-law, David Rubley and brother-in-law, Dalton Hoover. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Leonard Snodgrass of McMinnville and Judy and Joe Bob Mills of Rock Island, TN; two grandchildren, Jason Snodgrass of McMinnville and Julie Braxton (Rob) Parrish of Murfreesboro, TN; five great-grandchildren, Lindsay and Kelsi Snodgrass, Troy Rubley and Valerie and Taylor Parrish; step-grandson, Seth Rubley and wife Angela of Murfreesboro, TN and sister, Leoma Hoover of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in High's Chapel with John May officiating. Burial followed in the Viola Cemetery.
