J.C. MCDOWELL

McMinnville resident and Warren County native J.C. McDowell, age 71, was born January 27, 1940 and died June 3, 2011 at Alvin C. York VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN. A retired employee of Carrier Corporation and member of the Church of Christ, he was the son of the late James Cecil McDowell, Sr and the late Ann Mae Anderson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Ann McDowell and brother-in-law, Gerald Couch. He was married to Linda Sue Couch McDowell of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Janette and Gerald McBride of Muncie, IN; two nieces, Leigh "Missi" McBride and Cecilia Norman and husband Rusty both of Indiana; great-nieces and great-nephews, Noah McBride, J.C. Norman, Nick Norman, Kaleigh Norman and Payne McBride; brothers-in-law, Willard "Buddy" Couch of McMinnville and Joe Couch and wife Janie of Clarksville, TN; sister-in-law, Peggy Couch of McMinnville; nephews, Mark Couch of Murfreesboro, TN and Tommy Couch of Clarksville, TN; nieces, Selena Higgins of McMinnville and Angela Bauer of Clarksville, TN and great-nephew, Dustin Crouch of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 in High's Chapel with Titus Ward and Willie Arnold officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Cemetery.
