Grover Louis MYERS

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Grover Louis Myers, age 81, was born February 22, 1930 and died April 2, 2011 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired employee of Powermatic, United States Army veteran of Korea and member of the Bonner Church of Christ, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Ida Pearl Byrd Myers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Leonard, Victor, Vestor, Alvin and Claudie Myers and one sister, Bertha Walling. He was married April 4, 1959 to Helen Broom Myers of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Louis Myers of McMinnville and Stanley and Tracie Myers of Rock Island, TN; four grandchildren, Laura Miller and husband Brandon and Lisha Myers both of McMinnville, Casey Myers of Manchester, TN and Dakota Myers of Rock Island, TN and two great-grandsons, Silas Miller and Donald Lee. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in High's Chapel with Tim Long officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery on Hwy. 30 with full military honors administered by the VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
