SR., Hershel David PERRY

Beersheba Springs, TN resident and Grundy County, TN native Hershel David Perry, Sr., age 58, was born December 5, 1952 and died April 21, 2011 at his residence following a four-year illness. A retired truck driver with Metal Products Company and member of the Antioch Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, he was the son of the late Isaac and Berthenia King Perry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Perry; sister, Gladys King; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Howard and Irene Dodson Butcher; sister-in-law, Nancy Perry and four brothers-in-law, Frankie "Dump" Scruggs, Everett Pritchett, Bill Butcher and Jim Butcher. He was married June 10, 1972 to Brenda Butcher Perry of Beersheba Springs, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, David and Tammy Perry of McMinnville; two grandchildren, Allison Perry and Chelsea Perry both of McMinnville; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne Perry, Ray and Treva Perry, Lewis and Dean Perry and Willard and Christine Perry all of Grundy County, TN; two sisters, Wilma Elene Scruggs and Beatrice Pritchett both of McMinnville; two sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and Rance Anderson of Murfreesboro, TN and Helen Butcher of McMinnville; three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Willard and Betty Butcher and Bud and Barbara Butcher both of McMinnville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 in High's Chapel with Rick Hawkins, Alton Scruggs and Paul Dunlap officiating. Burial followed in the Center Hill Cemetery @ Hills Creek.
