McMinnville resident and Bledsoe County, TN native Phyllis Ann Priest, age 61, was born July 10, 1949 and died January 24, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN following an extended illness. A pharmacy technician at Wal-Mart and member of the Campaign Church of God of Prophecy, she was the daughter of the late Earl Sullivan and Maude Greene Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Jack Sullivan and three sisters, Kathleen Chastain, Paula Winton and Patsy Wheeler. She was married September 22, 1979 to Edward L. Priest. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children and their spouses, Stacey and Darrell Bailey and Tim and Carla Taylor both of McMinnville, Debbie and Eddie Wooden of Pikeville, TN and Cary and Ethel Taylor of Dayton, TN; two step-children and their spouses, Jimmy and Gail Priest and Ronnie and Debbie Priest both of McMinnville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Ruth and Landon Cox and Martha and Perry Sullivan both of Pikeville, TN, Nancy and Alvie Evans of Soddy-Daisy, TN and Barbara Headrick of Chattanooga, TN; two brothers and sister-in-law, Earl Sullivan of Hamilton County, TN and Clifford and Rhonda Sullivan of Rock Island, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in High's Chapel with Bro. Vernon Caruthers officiating. Burial followed in the New Union Cemetery on Hwy. 30.
