SR., George Washington ROBERTS

McMinnville resident and Warren County, TN native George Washington Roberts, Sr., age 84, was born May 7, 1927 and died June 19, 2011 at Raintree Manor following an extended illness. A Baptist Minister and United States Army veteran of Korea, he was the son of the late Isiah and Lou Barnes Roberts. He was married to Berta Leola Bess Roberts, who preceded him in death January 26, 2010. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Roberts. He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, George Washington and Beverly Dianne Roberts, Jr. of Morrison, TN, Terry Lee Roberts of McMinnville, Barry Lynn "Fuzz" and Carol Roberts of the Irving College Community and Paul David Roberts of Gainesboro, TN; four grandchildren and their spouses, Laurie Ann Roberts and Billy Wayne Delong of McMinnville, Julie Leann Roberts and Ryan John Jagoda of Casco, Michigan, Aaron Michael and Hollie Roberts of Morrison, TN and Jessica Danielle Roberts of Morrison, TN; six great-grandchildren, McKenzie Roberts and Benjamin Smith both of Morrison, TN, Timothy David Delong and Ashley Danielle Rarick both of McMinnville and Anna Caitlin Jagoda and Jason Michael Jagoda both of Casco, Michigan; sister, Pauline Muncie of Philadelphia, PA and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2011 in High's Chapel with Dal Barrett officiating. Burial followed in the Shellsford Cemetery.
