McMinnville resident and Warren County native Avis A. Rogers, age 88, was born May 23, 1923 and died July 4, 2011 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following a six-month illness. A homemaker and member of the Assembly of God, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Amanda Parsley Gann. She was married November 26, 1943 to Quim Northcutt Rogers who preceded her in death November 6, 1984. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Howard, Ben, Bill, Bobby Joe, Robert Harrison and Monroe Thomas Gann and four sisters, Nannie Rogers, Rosie Miller, Evelyn Mullins and Florence Elizabeth Gann. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Robert Brown of McMinnville; son, Doug Rogers of McMinnville; grandsons, Roger Brown and wife Katie of McMinnville and Bryan Brown and wife Darbie of Morrison, TN; great-grandson, Elijah Brown of McMinnville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 7, 2011 in High's Chapel with Roger Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Liberty Cemetery.
