Retha Joan SMITH

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Retha Joan Smith, age 59, was born May 19, 1951 and died January 10, 2011 at River Park Hospital following a brief illness. A retired employee of Stewart's Pharmacy and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Daisy Mae Tayor Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Dove. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Crystal McCormick of McMinnville and Richard Nolan and Tina McCormick of Rock Island, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Bridgett and Michael Eckert of Smithville, TN; nine grandchildren; three brothers, David Smith of Rock Island, TN, Olan Smith of Bone Cave, TN and Dewey Smith of McMinnville; three sisters, Sandra Owens of McMinnville and Freda Duggin and Kathy King both of Rock Island, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in High's Chapel with Steve Breedlove officiating. Burial followed in the Crain Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
