Mattie Ruth STALCUP

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Mattie Ruth Locke Stalcup, age 88, was born March 22, 1922 and died February 10, 2011 at NHC Healthcare McMinnville following an extended illness. The former manager of Mid-South Funeral Supplies, retired owner of United Grave Vault, Co. and member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late G.R. and Mattie Rowland Locke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Georgia Mae Locke Womack, Ora Pearl Locke Cox and Wilma Dean Locke Northcutt and brother, B.F. Locke. She is survived by five nephews and their spouses, Morris and Darlene Womack of McMinnville, Dr. Don and Beth Cox of Old Hickory, TN, Dr. Ben and Lucy Locke of Brentwood, TN, Bob and Susan Lynn Locke of Signal Mountain, TN and Greg Northcutt of Huntsville, AL; nieces and their spouses, Carol and Byron Chambers of McMinnville, Susan Locke Martin of Birmingham, AL, Cheryl and Tommy Baker of Chattanooga, TN, Karen and Richard Grant of Germantown, TN and Suzanne Northcutt Jones of Huntsville, AL; twenty-five great-nieces and great-nephews, twenty-eight great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews and several cousins. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, February 13, 2010 in High's Chapel with Coy Hathcock officiating. Burial followed in the Salem Cemetery.
