Garey Truman STEAKLEY

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Garey Truman Steakley, age 65, was born September 4, 1945 and died August 2, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following a brief illness. A retired truck driver with Kendall Medical Supply, he was the son of the late Murphy Ray and Mona Mai Johnson Steakley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Michelle Steakley Adcock; brothers, Ernest Jewell and Ronald Dwight Steakley and sister, Barbara Ann Ferrell. He was married June 25, 1966 to Reba Ellen Davis of Rock Island, TN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, Deborah Steakley of Bell Buckle, TN, Garey Lynn Steakley and wife Tisha of Rock Island, TN and Jeromey Steakley of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Tera Prater, Shelby and Trevor Steakley and Hannah and Justin Disbro; great-granddaughter, Sophia Moore; brother, Murrell Steakley of Campaign, TN; several nieces and nephews and uncle, Charles Steakley of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2011 in High's Chapel with Jason Brown officiating. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery.
