Melvin Royce WEST

McMinnville resident and DeKalb County, TN native Melvin Royce West, age 73, was born June 7, 1938 and died November 5, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. The owner/operator of McMinnville Starter and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Toy and Lora Young West. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Jeanetta Hennessee. He was married to Elva Green West of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Jackie Madewell (James), Sean West and Houston West all of McMinnville and Stacey Cagle of the Centertown Community; six grandchildren, Brenton Madewell, Toni Madewell, Ethan West, Dakota West, Raven Cagle and Dustin Cagle; three great-grandchildren, Brooklyn, Breana and Braxton Madewell; two brothers, Doug West and Hoyt West both of McMinnville; three sisters, Inez McCormick and Linda Davis both of McMinnville and Angelia Emly of Woodbury, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 7, 2011 in High's Chapel with Jerry Hennessee officiating. Burial followed in the New Bildad Cemetery in DeKalb County, TN.
