McMinnville resident and Warren County native John Carl "Johnny" Whitlock, Sr., age 81, was born October 23, 1929 and died August 1, 2011 at River Park Hospital following a short illness. The retired owner and operator of Whitlock Feed Mill in the Centertown Community and member of the Arlington Church of Christ, he was the son of the late O.H. and Evelyn Hancock Whitlock. He was married August 17, 1950 to Doris Golden Whitlock of McMinnville. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, John and Cynthia Whitlock of Knoxville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Edwin and Louise Whitlock of McMinnville; sister and brother-in-law, Nancy Hallene and Jimmy Spangler of Murfreesboro, TN; two sisters-in-law, Henrietta Mayberry of Huntsville, AL and Alice Cantrell of McMinnville; two brothers-in-law, Newton Gribble of Cookeville, TN and Austin Golden of McMinnville; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Faye and N.B. Stiles, Stella and Paul Grissom and Nelta and Don Cantrell all of McMinnville and Edwin and Joyce Golden of Toshomingo, MS; several nieces and nephews including special niece and her husband, Jennifer and Jimmy West of McMinnville and great-niece, Lacey West of Nashville, TN. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 in High's Chapel with Wayne Cantrell officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. View Cemetery.
