Leona WILLIAMS

Rock Island, TN resident and Warren County native Leona Williams, age 94, was born July 30, 1917 and died October 14, 2011 at River Park Hospital following a short illness. A homemaker and member of the Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Lilly Perry Coppinger. She was married to first husband, Marshall Smartt who preceded her in death in 1949, and second husband, Carl Williams who preceded her in death in 1966. In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Stanley Smartt. She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, John David and Rosemary Smartt of Rock Island, TN and William L. Williams of Rock Island, TN; three grandchildren and their spouses, John and Clara Smartt, Jr. of Rock Island, TN, Holly and Terry Mullican of Morrison, TN and Marshall Smartt of Rock Island, TN; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment was held Monday, October 17, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. View Cemetery with Rex Boles officiating.
