Brenda Joyce BRATTEN

Athens, AL resident and Warren County native Brenda Joyce Bratten, age 72, was born April 5, 1940 and died June 12, 2012 at Limestone Health Facility in Athens, AL following an extended illness. A homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Haskel and Wyona Jones Neal. She was married September 19, 1959 to Lemmie Sherlie Bratten, Jr. who preceded her in death June 3, 2002. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, Andrew Kimery. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny and Dennis Kimery of Hazel Green, AL, Cindy and Jerry Wheeler of Huntsville, AL and Connie and Brian Taylor of Athens, AL; five grandsons, Joseph Kimery of Elkmont, AL, Seth Facundo and Marley Taylor both of Athens, AL, and Jay Wheeler and Sam Wheeler both of Huntsville, AL and sister, Vada Campbell of McMinnville. Funeral service was held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Bybee Branch Church of Christ with Dennis Kimery officiating. Burial followed in Bethlehem Cemetery.
