Joe Bratten BROWN

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Joe Bratten Brown, age 81, was born September 17, 1930 and died April 3, 2012 at Alvin C. York V.A. Medical Center in Murfreesboro, TN following an extended illness. A retired truck driver with Central Oil Company and United States Army veteran, he was the son of the late George L. and Mary Emma Bratten Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and George Lee Brown, Jr. and two sisters, Sharon Hayes and Ruth Prater. He is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Larry Wayne and Mary Brown of McMinnville; nieces, Lisa (Jim) Weismore of McMinnville and Allison (Arthur) Walker of Athens, TN; nephews, David (Lori) Brown of McMinnville and Jeffery (Stephanie) Hayes of Manchester, TN; five great-nieces, Candice, Brittany, Ashlyn, Gabrielle and Alyiah; seven great-nephews, Cole, Dillon, Travis, Austin, Treyton, Arthur, Jr. and Sinnigan and special friend, Wanda Brown. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012 in High's Chapel with Herbert E. Alsup officiating. Burial followed in the Brick House Cemetery with full military honors administered by the American Legion Post 173 and VFW Post 5064.
