Lila Mae BYARS

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Lila Mae Byars, age 95, was born November 20, 1916 and died May 21, 2012 at her son's residence in Knoxville, TN following a brief illness. A retired employee of McMinnville Garment Company and member of the Smyrna Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Lena Smith. She was married to Woodrow Byars who preceded her in death in 1984. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Carrie Romans and three brothers, Robert, James and Hervie Smith. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Woody and Gwen Byars of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Amy Houser and husband James "Mickey", Jr., Andrea Page and husband Kevin and Amanda Martin and husband Patrick all of Knoxville, TN; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 in High's Chapel with Jonathan Stubblefield and Donald Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Smyrna Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Tennessee.
