Mary Ruth Hillis CARR

McMinnville resident and Warren County native Mary Ruth Hillis Carr, age 83, was born November 10, 1928 and died January 25, 2012 at River Park Hospital following an extended illness. A retired employee of Magnetek, she was the daughter of the late Oliver E. and Fluellar Russell Hillis. Mrs. Carr was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She was married to Oscar Brown Carr who preceded her in death in 1978. She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Bobby and Pat Carr of Huntsville, AL, Margaret and Jim Self of Maryville, TN, Gene and Bea Carr of Hayti, SD, Frank and Margaret Carr, Darlene and Larry Vance and Chuby Carr and Donnie Prater all of McMinnville and Larry and Melissa Carr of San Antonio, TX; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service and interment was held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery with Scotty Lawson officiating.
