Clercie Grove DELON

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Clercie Grove Delon, age 92, was born September 14, 1919 and died May 29, 2012 at Raintree Manor Nursing Home following an extended illness. A retired seamstress and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Annie Elizabeth Clark Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, George Grove in 1955 and Dalt Delon in 1989; brothers, Andy and Floyd Johnson; sister, Scena Christian and granddaughter, Glenda Delon. She is survived by one daughter, Mildred Simmons of McMinnville; five grandchildren, Jennifer Simmons Allen of Chattanooga, TN, Chris Simmons of Nashville, TN, Vickie Bridge and Rick Delon both of Royal Center, IN and Larry Delon of Sharpsville, IN; eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and sister, Ellen Bouldin of Spencer, TN. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2012 in High's Chapel with Dr. Dean Northcutt officiating. Burial followed in the White Hill Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
