Jimmy B. "J.B." Grissom, 87, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital, with his family by his side. He was born March 21, 1924 in Van Buren Co. (Rocky River Community), Tennessee to Nancy (Clark) and Ernest T. Grissom. He attended Van Buren Co. Schools and served with the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean War. He married Dorothy Emmalene (Grove) Grissom, September 22, 1956, then permanently made his home in Muncie, IN, where he was employed at Marhoefer Packing Company and Pepsi-Cola Bottlers before retiring. J.B. enjoyed his annual garden, showing his grandchildren how things ?used to be? done and the time spent with family. He was also a member of Towne Acres Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years; a daughter and son-in-law, Melody and Tim Crehan, Muncie; granddaughter, Jill Crehan, Indianapolis; and grandsons, Jordan and Jase Crehan, Muncie; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Arzie, H. Clark and Theron Grissom; and four sisters, Elizabeth Hillis, Mattie Land, Maxine Sweeney and Ernestine Grissom. Funeral service was held Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in High?s Chapel. Burial followed in Crain Hill Cemetery, Van Buren County, Tennessee.
