Spencer, TN resident and Sequatchie County, TN native Tiny Moffitt Howard, age 86, was born April 27, 1925 and died January 10, 2012 at Generations of Spencer following an extended illness. A retired employee of U.S.A. Enterprises and member of the Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Monroe and Gusty May Moffitt. Her hobbies were quilting, gardening and cooking for her family. She was married to Charles Winton Howard who preceded her in death April 11, 1998. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Gertrude Farley, Bernice Moffitt and Dainty Swafford and three brothers, Wesley Swafford, Ethel Clark and Raymond Clark. She is survived by one son, Bron Howard of Spencer, TN; three daughters and sons-in-law, Helen and Don Basham of McMinnville, Stella and Lloyd Powers of Spencer, TN and Charlotte and Walter Thompson of Dunlap, TN; three grandchildren, Heath Thompson and Jerry Thompson both of Spencer, TN and Candie Salatka of Washington State; sister, Eva Jane Minton of Dunlap, TN and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 in High's Chapel with Joseph Hayes officiating. Burial followed in the Seitz Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN.
