Billy Thomas MARTIN

McMinnville resident and Van Buren County, TN native Billy Thomas Martin, age 71, was born July 4, 1940 and died May 18, 2012 at River Park Hospital following a four-month illness. A retired employee of Keel Nursery and member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Tommy and Annie Warren Martin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Young Martin; brother, James Martin; half-brothers, A.D., J.C. and R.L. McGuire and half-sister, Pauline Lee. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Driver Martin of McMinnville; step-daughter, Teresa Lassiter of McMinnville; step-granddaughter, Ashley Lassiter of California; brother, Glenn Martin of McMinnville; several nieces and nephews and brothers-in-law, Morris (Elsie) Young of Rock Island, TN, Farris (Brenda) Young of McMinnville and Don (Ruby Nell) Driver and David (Shirley) Driver both of Smithville, TN. Funeral service was held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012 in High's Chapel. Burial followed in the Old Bybee Cemetery.
