Georgia Penny O'Dell Malone MARTIN

Rock Island, TN resident and Alabama native Georgia "Penny" O'Dell Malone Martin, age 74, was born November 10, 1937 and died February 15, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. A retired employee of McMinnville Garment Company and member of the Church of Christ, she was the daughter of the late Edward Carmack and Lorene Ferguson Malone. She was married to Willie Ray "Bill" Martin who preceded her in death August 23, 1996. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Edward Malone and three sisters, Patricia Ann Hathcock, June Hennessee and Maxine Good. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Lamont and Janice Malone of Nashville, TN and Anthony and Darlene Malone of McMinnville; brother, Milton "Sniffie" Malone of Aulander, NC; sister, Sandra Ainsley of Aulander, NC; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service and interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2012 at Riverside Cemetery with Johnny Haston officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Friday at High's. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Viola Valley Dogs c/o High's.
